The roofs
Downtown DeLand and the streets near Stetson still have older wood-frame and block houses with complicated roofs. West DeLand looks more like a newer Florida suburb. Tree limbs, not just wind, are the repair driver. Valleys full of oak litter stay wet.
The solar
Canopy is the design problem. A roof that looks large can be a poor array once the afternoon shade is drawn on it. We would rather propose a smaller unshaded array than a cheap full-roof layout that underproduces.
